SAN DIEGO (UCSD) - The UC San Diego men and women track and field squads head up to Los Angeles for the weekend to compete in the CCAA Championship Meet. The meet will be held on the campus of Cal State L.A. at Jesse Owens Track.
The women look for their fourth team championship in a row while the men look to improve on their fifth place finish last season.The women look to be the favorite going in to the championships as they are ranked as the top team in the nation according to the latest NCAA Division II Power Rankings. The women scored 260 points outdistancing second place Chico State by 77.5 points as they claimed their third straight team championship. Sophomore Linda Rainwater will look to improve on her second place finish last season in the heptathlon as well as defend her high jump title from a year ago.
