SoCal MLB Preview

Chi White Sox (18-18) at LA Angels (22-17), 7:05 pm
ANAHEIM, California (Ticker) - The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim snapped out of their offensive funk, but could not capitalize on it on Sunday. The Angels hope to keep the bats hot when they start a three-game set with the Chicago White Sox on Monday.
Anaheim's 8-5 loss to the Tampa Bay Rays on Sunday ended a frustrating stretch, as the club was shutout in the first two games of the series. As a result, the Angels are in the midst of a four-game skid, their worst since a six-game slide from April 12-18 in 2007.
Anaheim will turn to rookie Nick Adenhart, (0-0, 11.37 ERA) who was unable to qualify for a decision for the second time in as many career starts, throwing 82 pitches over just 4 1/3 innings in a 5-3 win over Kansas City on Tuesday. The righthander allowed three runs and six hits, issuing five walks for the second straight start. He has yet to allow a home run - a trait that may serve him well against the White Sox, the American League leaders in home runs with 45.
Chicago will counter with Mark Buehrle (1-4, 5.31), who will seek to end his long losing streak. The lefthander has dropped four straight decisions and is winless over his last five starts.
