SAN DIEGO (SDSU) -Ryan Amoroso scored 23 points as San Diego State handed Colorado State its 15th straight loss, 86-62, Saturday night. The game was the home finale for the Aztecs, who finish the seaosn next week at Air Force.
Women Beat CSU
The San Diego State women's basketball team shot 49 percent from the field and had just 12 turnovers to sweep the season series against Colorado State with a 76-56 win Saturday at Moby Arena. With the victory, the Aztecs won in Fort Collins for the first time in eight years and clinched at least a .500 overall record for the first time since the 1996-97 season, improving to 15-12. SDSU also garnered its sixth conference victory of the year (6-9), its most ever in the nine years of Mountain West Conference play
Cal Downs Baseball
Josh Satin's three-run homer in the top of the seventh gave Cal its first lead since the opening inning and the Bears went on to defeat San Diego State, 5-3, Saturday night at SDSU's Tony Gwynn Stadium. The win improved to Bears to 3-1-1 on the year while the Aztecs fell to 5-3.
Swim & Dive Team Fininshes Ninth
The San Diego State women's swimming and diving team finished eighth with 161 points at the Mountain West Conference championships, moving up one spot from its ninth-place showing last year.
Softball Splits Games
The No. 20/21 San Diego State softball team split a pair of games on the second day of the San Diego Classic I Saturday night at SDSU Softball Stadium. The Aztecs, who are off to their best start in school history at 15-5, lost a 2-1, nine-inning decision to No. 4/7 UCLA, before rallying for a 4-3 victory over Eastern Michigan in the nightcap.
