USD & UCSD Split in Softball

SAN DIEGO (USD) - The University of San Diego softball team posted a split in their doubleheader against crosstown rival UC San Diego defeating the Tritons 4-1 in the early game and losing 5-6 in the night cap.

In the late game, USD fell behind 4-0 after the first inning. The Toreros slowly picked away at the lead scoring a run in the third and fourth inning. The Tritons tacked on one more run in the fifth and another in the sixth inning pulling away 6-2. In the bottom of the sixth inning, San Diego rallied with a three run inning to bring the Toreros within one run of tying the game. However USD could not push across another run falling 5-6.
