CHICO, Calif. (UCSD) - The UC San Diego men's basketball team out-scored the Chico State Wildcats by a 41-22 margin the second half to overcome a six point first half deficit on Friday evening in Acker Gymnasium on the Chico State campus. With the win the Tritons claim a season series sweep over the Wildcats and improve to 11-6 overall and 7-4 in California Collegiate Athletic Association. Chico State falls to 5-14 overall and 1-11 in league action.
UCSD struggled mightily from the floor in the first half and trailed by nine points before a Kelvin Kim 3-pointer with less than one minute to go in the first stanza put the score at 27-21 entering halftime.

Women Drop Game to Chico
CHICO - The UC San Diego women's basketball team could not overcome a 15 point first half, falling by 60-51 score to 18th-ranked Chico State on Friday evening in Acker Gym on the CSUC campus. With the loss the Tritons fall to 15-6 overall and 7-4 in California Collegiate Athletic Association play while the Wildcats improve to 17-4 overall and 10-2 in league action.

Volleyball Beaten by #5 Pepperdine
SAN DIEGO - The 15th-ranked UC San Diego men's volleyball team lost to 5th-ranked Pepperdine 30-28, 30-26, 30-23 on Friday night in front of 447 fans in RIMAC Arena. The loss drops UCSD to 3-6, 1-6 Mountain Pacific Sports Federation while the Waves improve to 5-3, 5-3 MPSF. UCSD was led by Frank Fritsch with 12 kills, while Jason Spangler and Gerald Houseman added 10 kills apiece. Billy Arnold recorded 39 assists, five digs and three blocks. Pepperdine outhit UCSD .360 - .229 for the match. The Waves were paced by J.D. Schleppenbach with 12 kills on .360 hitting. Eric Leserman led all players with 15 digs.
