Toreros Lose NCAA Tournament Match



MADISON, Wisc. (USD) - The 16th-ranked University of San Diego women's volleyball team saw their season come to an end with a tough 3-2 loss to Iowa State University in the first round of the NCAA Tournament Friday afternoon at the UW Fieldhouse.With the 30-25, 29-31, 19-30, 30-25, 14-16 loss, the Toreros conclude their season with a 21-8 overall record. With the win, the Cyclones improve to 18-13 overall and will play the winner of the Wisconsin and Northern Iowa match on Saturday at 7 p.m.Amy DeGroot led the team's offense as she had a match-high 20 kills and recorded 17 digs to post her 14th double-double of the season. Laurel Abrahamson was the second USD player in double-digit kills as she had 16 kills on 37 attempts to post a .351 attack percentage.
