Emilio Named MLS MVP

Washington (Source: MLS) - Major League Soccer announced today D.C. United's Luciano Emilio as the League's 2007 Most Valuable Player. The forward earned the League's highest individual honor having already captured the Budweiser Golden Boot for scoring the most goals during the regular season. Emilio's 20 goals made him the first player to reach the 20-goal mark since 2002. D.C. United is the first team in League history to have back-to-back MVP winners, as Christian Gomez captured the award last year. Marco Etcheverry earned the honor following the 1998 season.
