The 2007 NFL is full of surprises. Not at the top, but everywhere else. With the defending super bowl champs, the Indianapolis Colts plying superb the ninth week game against the New England Patriots was incredible. The Patriots remain undefeated but the Colts will get another chance to beat them when they meet in the playoffs.
The big surprise teams in the NFC Conference are the Dallas Cowboys and the Green Bay Packers. They are winning and looking impressive along the way. So I guess that mean aging Packers quarterback Brett Favre is correct about his ability to still get the job done. There are 2 teams that have not won any games yet, which is hard to believe. The Miami Dolphins and the St Louis Rams are floundering and still looking for their first win and it may be a while.

I am still optimistic that the Chargers can win their division and get a fresh start but it will not be an easy smooth road. They just need to run the ball more often and earlier. At the half way point, opponents are not fearing LT. That should be out strength the rest of the way. An aggressive approach that calls for a new direction and the results will follow. The Chargers have outstanding athletes on defense but sometimes playing real physical and aggressive is more vital than anything else. The opponents know that they cannot move the Chargers, so they have decided to change the concept of their games. Their offensive formations are not fancy. They just want to get more players to a spot and then power block who ever is in the way. That means our defenders must buck up, take blockers on and knock them back, instead of trying to make spectacular plays.
So get ready for some exciting football in the second half and get behind the Chargers. A 10-6 record or even will win the AFC West division this year. In the playoffs, it does not matter if you are 14-2 or if you are 9-7. You have to get there to have a chance to be champs.
