NFL PIcks: Week 7

By Rodney Southern
Tennessee at Houston - Tennessee and Houston should be one heck of a match up as the two teams are both at a precarious point in the season. Both teams are up and comers, and both are in desperate need of a win this week. Makes for great drama. Since I turn my picks into you all early this game will have a disclaimer. If Vince Young is playing for Tennessee, go with the Titans. Otherwise, go with Houston at home. Winner - See above
Baltimore at Buffalo - Buffalo is a much better team than their record indicates. Against this tough defense, it will not matter. Ravens win.
Minnesota at Dallas - The Vikings are a team in transition. They can be great or terrible on any given week. At their best they will not beat Dallas, especially after the beat down the Cowboys took this past week. Dallas Wins.
Tampa Bay at Detroit - Detroit and Tampa Bay is a tough call, but defense usually rules in situations like this. This would give the edge to Tampa, though I am certain that Detroit will score. Can Tampa keep up? That is the real question. I say not this week on the road. Lions win
Arizona at Washington - The Cardinals are on life support after the debacle at quarterback. Washington is way to good and the Cards are way to hurt. Redskins win.
San Francisco at NY Giants - The Giants looked pretty decent Monday night but it was against the Falcons. Oh wait......Falcons? Niners? Not much difference there. Giants win.
Atlanta at New Orleans - New Orleans is back in the groove offensively. I do not think they are totally healed, though I feel they are certainly better than Atlanta. New Orleans wins at home.
New England at Miami - New England and Miami... Uh.... Duh..... Patriots win.
Kansas City at Oakland - Kansas City and Oakland will battle it out in Oakland, and the winner will assert themselves as contender and not pretender. They are both on the cusp. I think the Raiders will win at home. Raiders win.
NY Jets at Cincinnati - This is a game that I fear picking as it is a trap game. The Bengals SHOULD win. The Jets SHOULD score a ton of points against a terrible Bengal defense. In a game like this, I go with the home team. Bengals win.
Chicago at Philadelphia - This is another match up that is tough to call, but I have a feeling the Bears are self imploding. I look for the Eagles to draw on the home crowd and perform much better this week. Eagles win.
St. Louis at Seattle - The Rams and Seattle is a former big time matchup that is neither this year. The Rams have been horrible and the Seahawks seem to have no heart or drive. The Seahawks will win due to superior talent. Seahawks win.
Pittsburgh at Denver - This is the best match up of the week though I doubt it will be as close as one might think. Denver is traditionally very good at home, but look what San Diego did two weeks ago. Look for Pittsburgh to be just as rude, and just as tough. It won't be the blowout that the Charger game was, but it will be clear who will win going into the fourth quarter. Steelers win.
Indianapolis at Jacksonville - The Colts and Jacksonville is a pretty interesting match up, and the Colts are on a roll. The Jaguars are as well, and they can play defense. This will be the week that Peyton trips up. Every team has a boo boo now and then, and the Jags will be the Colts boo boo at home. Jaguars win.
