Enicnitas Reds 13&U Takes 2nd Place in Tourney

ENCINITAS - The Encinitas Reds 13-and-under travel baseball team, which includes players from throughout San Diego County took 2nd place in the recent 16 team USSSA MLK Super NIT Tournament held in Chino Hills and Riverside Big League Field of Dreams January 19-21. The Reds were defeated 10-8 in the championship game when the go ahead run scored on a throwing error on an attempted steal of third base. The team finished the tournament with a 4-1-1 record, avenging an earlier 10-10 tie, when they defeated the Las Vegas Stealth in the semi finals, 15-4.
