Eveland Shoots Miramar College Jets Past Grossmont

North County’s own, Pat Eveland (San Pasqual HS) scored 23 points, including 5 three pointers to lift the San Diego Miramar College Jets (5-6, 1-0) to a 72-67 victory over Grossmont College (6-5, 0-1) in the Jets’ opening conference on Wednesday night (Dec. 12). Eveland continued his strong play after averaging 21 points and 12 rebounds in pre-conference action. The victory extends Miramar’s win streak to four games. Le’Sean Galbreth (Escondido HS) had 15 points and Ian Larsson (Westview HS) had 14 points for the Jets. Greg Monroe (Mount Miguel HS) and Emery Mitchell (Steele Canyon HS) each had 17 points to lead Grossmont.


In other PCC action:

San Diego City College (6-7, 2-0) jumped off to a strong start to league play this week winning their first two games. On Wednesday, City defeated Cuyamaca (4-7, 1-1) 74-70 and then followed that performance by knocking off Palomar College (4-6, 1-1) 93-78. Jesse LeBeau had 29 points for City in their victory over Palomar.

Palomar and Cuyamaca both managed to overcome their losses to City to rebound with wins of their own. Palomar defeated MiraCosta 108-69 earlier in the week. Nedal Tatir (Orange Glen HS) led a balanced Palomar scoring attack with 21 points. Cuyamaca picked up a victory over Southwestern (5-10, 0-2) 60-51 lead by the steady play of Dahir Nassar who had 12 points.
