Carlsbad Triathlon Celebrates 27th Successful Event

CARLSBAD, CA ‑ The City of Carlsbad celebrated the 27th annual Carlsbad Triathlon with another successful race that pleased athletes and spectators alike. Presented by the City of Carlsbad Recreation Department, the event caps at 1,000 athletes in 45 different divisions.

Finishing in first place at the 2008 Carlsbad Triathlon in the Elite Mens Division was Boyd Conrick. In the Elite Women's division, Rachel Challis had the best time, with 1:17:52, followed by Misako Win, with 1:22:49.

The oldest athlete ‑ Bill Bell, 83, of Indian Wells, CA ‑ returned once again to finish the race in 2:47:09.
