Padres On Deck vs. Marlins, Game 3 of 3 (Series 1-1)

Florida (46-44) at San Diego (36-55), 12:35 pm
SAN DIEGO (Ticker) -- Scott Hairston hopes to continue his recent power surge as the San Diego Padres host the Florida Marlins on Wednesday in the middle contest of a three-game series. Hairston homered for the fourth time in as many games on Tuesday, leading the Padres to a 10-1 rout of the Marlins. The 28-year-old leadoff hitter is on a five-game hitting streak, going 9-for-17 (.529) with four blasts and seven RBI over that stretch. Hairston will hope that success continues against Marlins starter Scott Olsen (4-4, 3.96 ERA), who has not won in over two months. Olsen, who was roughed up for nine runs - eight earned - and 11 hits over five innings during Friday's 18-17 loss to the Colorado Rockies, is winless with three losses over his previous 10 starts. He has not won since finishing one out away from a complete-game shutout on May 6 against the Milwaukee Brewers. The Padres, who are seeking their fourth win in six games, will send righthander Cha Seung Baek (2-4, 4.93) to the mound. Baek tossed six scoreless frames in Friday's 5-1 triumph over the Arizona Diamondbacks, allowing just two hits and a walk with seven strikeouts. The South Korean had a no-hitter through five innings in that one.
