SDSU's Stasburg Named to US National Team

SAN DIEGO - San Diego State sophomore right-handed pitcher Stephen Strasburg (West Hills HS) was named to the 2008 USA Baseball National (Collegiate) Team, announced Tuesday, June 24. Strasburg is one of 20 players on a roster that consists of nine pitchers, nine position players and a pair of two-way players. The 2008 USA Baseball National Team will compete next month in the Haarlem Baseball Week in the Netherlands and at the FISU World Championships in the Czech Republic. It will also play exhibition contests in Germany and the Czech Republic as part of its European tour.
