Padres On Deck @ Marlins, Game 3 of 3

San Diego (12-19) at Florida (16-14), 10:10 am

MIAMI (Ticker) -- Greg Maddux is hoping to add yet another accomplishment to his Hall of Fame resume on Sunday. The 42-year-old righthander will attempt to pick up his 350th career win when the San Diego Padres meet the Florida Marlins in the rubber match of a three-game series.

Maddux (2-2, 3.76 ERA) is just one victory away from joining Cy Young, Walter Johnson, Pete Alexander, Christy Mathewson, Pud Galvin, Warren Spahn, Kid Nichols and Roger Clemens in the exclusive 350-win club. A four-time National League Cy Young Award winner, Maddux failed in his last three attempts to reach the milestone. On Tuesday, he allowed three runs and eight hits over 6 1/3 innings, walking one and striking out two in a 7-4 loss to the Philadelphia Phillies.

Florida will counter with lefthander Andrew Miller (1-2, 9.12), who gave up six runs, nine hits and two walks in just three innings during Tuesday's 7-6 loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers. The Padres have dropped nine of their previous 12 games despite pulling out a 7-2 triumph over the Marlins on Saturday. Florida is also struggling, losing four of its last five games.
