Aztecs Beat


SAN DIEGO (SDSU) - Unable to find any offensive punch until down by six runs, San Diego State found itself on the losing end of a 10-3 score line at the hands of eighth-ranked Cal State Fullerton Friday evening at the Goodwin Field in Fullerton. The loss was the third straight for the Aztecs, who fell to 30-25 while the Titans won for t he fifth time in its last six outings to improve to 34-17 on the year.


Golf Slips
Despite the efforts of Aaron Goldberg (Encinitas, Calif.) and Johan Carlsson (Gothenburg, Sweden), the San Diego State men's golf team tumbled into 20th place on Friday after shooting a collective 15-over-par 303 during the second round of the NCAA West Regional Championships in Bremerton, Wash. Goldberg and Carlsson each fired a 1-over 73, but it wasn't enough to prevent the 11th-seeded Aztecs from falling seven places in the team standings after ending the day with a combined 29-over 605.


Softball Falls
The No. 19/21 San Diego State softball team had its six-game winning streak snapped with a 4-1 loss to No. 25/24 California Friday night in the first game of the NCAA Regionals in Fresno, Calif. With the loss, the Aztecs (43-16) will face the loser of the Fresno State/Sacramento State game in an elimination game at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, while the Golden Bears (41-24) will face the winner at noon.
