Aztecs Beat


SAN DIEGO (SDSU) - San Diego State fell behind early and was unable to catch up as it dropped a 10-4 decision at Brigham Young Friday night at Larry H. Miller Field in Provo. The loss ended a four-game winning streak for the Aztecs, who fell to 29-22 overall and 15-8 in the Mountain West Conference. It dropped SDSU a game behind New Mexico and three back in the loss column in the battle for the No. 2 seed at the upcoming MWC Tournament. BYU, meanwhile, ended a five-game losing streak while improving to 20-32 (8-12 MWC).


Water Polo Ousted
The fourth-seeded San Diego State water polo team fell, 9-8, to No. 5 seed UC Davis in the first round of the NCAA championship at Avery Aquatic Center.


Softball Shares MWC Title
The No. 19/21 San Diego State softball team clinched at least a share of the Mountain West Conference title with a 9-0, five-inning victory over UNLV Friday night in Las Vegas, Nev. It was the school-record 42nd win of the season for the Aztecs, who remain one game ahead of second-place Brigham Young (13-6) with a 14-5 record in league play.
