Aztecs Beat


SAN DIEGO (SDSU) - After dropping a pair of contests earlier in the week at 20th-ranked Arizona, San Diego State continues a string of eight consecutive road contests as its travels Air Force to resume Mountain West Conference play with a three-game series this weekend. That set of contests against the Falcons gets underway on Friday, May 2, at 2:00 p.m. (MDT) at Falcon Field in Colorado Springs. Colo. San Diego State and Air Force will also meet on Saturday (May 3) and Sunday (May 4) for contests at 1:00 p.m. and noon respectively.

Golfer Named to Palmer Team
San Diego State senior Aaron Goldberg (Encinitas, Calif.) was one of eight players named to the 2008 Palmer Cup as announced recently by the Golf Coaches Association of America. The annual competition, featuring the top collegiate golfers from the United States against their European counterparts, will be played June 26-27 in a Ryder Cup-style format at the Glasgow Golf Club's 6,903-yard, par-71 Gailes Links in Gailes, Scotland.

Athletes Honored at Banquet
A total of 218 student-athletes were recognized at the 14th annual San Diego State Scholar-Athlete Awards Banquet on Monday at Montezuma Hall in Aztec Center. SDSU alumna and Fox Sports commentator Jeanne Zelasko presided over the festivities, which honored Aztec student-athletes with at least a 3.0 cumulative or a 3.2 semester grade-point average during the calendar year of 2007.
