SAN DIEGO (Ticker) -- Petco Park has enhanced Jake Peavy's ability to shut down the opposition. Perhaps no team knows that better than the Los Angeles Dodgers. The Dodgers target their first win against Peavy in over four years Saturday when they visit the Padres.

Los Angeles posted a season high in runs in Friday's 7-1 series-opening victory over San Diego. That kind of offensive production against Peavy (1-0, 0.00 ERA) would be a pleasant change for the Dodgers, who scored a total of eight runs in five starts against the reigning National League Cy Young Award winner last season. San Diego won all five of Peavy's starts against Los Angeles last season, as the righthander went 3-0 with a 2.08 ERA. Peavy has not lost to the Dodgers since September 13, 2003 and is 9-1 with a 2.30 ERA in 18 career starts against them. Peavy yielded three hits and three walks with four strikeouts in the Padres' 4-0 win over the Houston Astros on Monday.

Los Angeles will counter with its own ace, Brad Penny (1-0, 0.00), who logged 6 2/3 innings in Monday's 5-0 victory over the San Francisco Giants. Penny has enjoyed very little success in Petco Park, going 0-3 with a 6.16 ERA in four career starts here.
