Gonzalez Leads Padres to Win

SAN FRANCISCO (Ticker) -- Adrian Gonzalez had four hits and scored four runs and Greg Maddux pitched seven strong innings to lead the San Diego Padres to an 8-4 win Monday over the San Francisco Giants. Gonzalez hit a two-run blast in the first to put the Padres on top and Jim Edmonds and Khalil Greene combined to drive in five runs to put the game away. Maddux yielded just one run and three hits while striking out five and walking two. The ageless righthander threw 58 of 93 pitches for strikes and induced 14 groundouts. Bengie Molina drove in a run for the Giants.
