Aztecs Beat


SAN DIEGO (SDSU) - The San Diego State women's golf team resumes action after a more than two-week break, heading to New Mexico for the first time in league history for the 2008 Mountain West Conference championships, April 17-19. The 54-hole tournament will be held at the par-73, 6,167-yard University of New Mexico Championship Golf Course, which is also the site of this year's 2008 NCAA championships.

Softball Wins City Championship
Senior Megan McDonald (Glendale, Ariz.) continued her offensive hot streak with three hits and two RBI to lead the No. 22/24 San Diego State softball team to a 3-1 victory over San Diego Wednesday night at USD Softball Complex. The Aztecs improved to 31-13 with the victory and now lead the overall series between the two schools, 45-2.

Long Back At Practice
San Diego State head football coach Chuck Long was back on the field Wednesday as the Aztecs practiced for more than two-and-a-half hours on the SDSU practice fields.It was the first practice back for the Aztec coach following the death of his father, Charles, on Monday. Long will remain in San Diego for the practices this week on Friday and Saturday, before returning to Illinois on Saturday night for Monday's memorial service.
