Undefeated Memphis Still At #1

MCLEAN, Virginia (Ticker) -- Memphis remained atop the latest USA Today/ESPN coaches' poll, which was released Monday. The only remaining undefeated team in Division I, Memphis (23-0) received 775 points and all 31 first-place votes from a panel of coaches.

The Tigers coasted to a pair of easy victories this past week - a 77-48 rout of SMU on Wednesday and an 85-64 triumph over Central Florida four days later. Saturday's victory extended Memphis' home winning streak to 46 games.

Duke (21-1) remained second following a week highlighted by Wednesday's 89-78 victory over hated rival North Carolina. Riding an 11-game winning streak, the Blue Devils received 742 points. Kansas (23-1) climbed two spots to third, while Tennessee (21-2) and UNC (22-2) rounded out the top five. The Volunteers vaulted three spots from last week's rankings.

UCLA (21-3) fell two spots to sixth following Sunday's 71-61 loss at unranked Washington. Stanford (20-3) is seventh, followed by Georgetown (19-3), Michigan State (20-3) and Butler (21-2). Texas (19-4) climbed one spot to 11th, followed by Indiana (20-3), Xavier (20-4) and Wisconsin (19-4). The Badgers fell six spots following Saturday's 72-67 loss to Purdue.

Drake (22-1) remained 15th while Texas A&M (20-4) climbed two spots to 16th. Connecticut (18-5), Notre Dame (18-4), Vanderbilt (20-4) and Washington State (18-5) rounded out the top 20. Saint Mary's (20-3) is 21st, followed by Kansas State (17-5) and Purdue (19-5), which entered the rankings for the first time this season. Pittsburgh (18-5) and Marquette (16-6) completed the poll. Two-time defending champion Florida fell from the rankings after suffering a 104-82 loss to the Volunteers on Tuesday.
