SoCal NBA Preview
LA Lakers (41-17) at Portland (30-28), 7:30 pm
PORTLAND, Oregon (Ticker) -- The Los Angeles Lakers close out their February schedule Friday when they visit the Portland Trail Blazers.
Los Angeles enters the contest on a 10-game winning streak with just one loss in 14 games this month. However, the Lakers hot play has come despite just three home games in February. The Lakers have won all three of those games at Staples Center, including a 106-88 victory over the Miami Heat on Thursday. Jordan Farmar scored 12 of his career-high 24 points in the fourth quarter to power Los Angeles to the win.
The Trail Blazers improved to just 2-8 over their last 10 games on Wednesday, logging an 82-80 victory over the Los Angeles Clippers. Jarrett Jack scored 21 points and added eight rebounds but nearly cost Portland the game after missing a pair of free throws in the closing seconds. However, the Clippers' Corey Maggette missed two chances to win the game, as the Blazers escaped with the victory, snapping a three-game losing streak.
