LA JOLLA, California (Ticker) -- Tiger Woods is 5-under par through 11 holes of Friday's second round and owns a two-stroke lead at the $5.2 million Buick Invitational. Playing in his first event this season, Woods has an overall score of 10-under. Kevin Streelman and Stewart Cink are three shots behind while eight golfers - including Fred Couples - are tied for fourth, five shots behind.

Woods began slowly on the North Course at Torrey Pines, making par on his first three holes. He did make birdie on the 13th - his fourth hole - and the 16th. Streelman, an alternate who didn't know he was in the event until just before the first round started, held the lead early, getting to 8-under by making birdie on three of his first four holes on the South Course. Woods caught Streelman at 8-under when he made a birdie on his ninth hole. Woods then birdied his 10th and 11th hole to build a two-stroke lead.
