Super Bowl XLII: Brady Discusses Injury

SCOTTSDALE, Arizona (Ticker) - Quarterback Tom Brady and his injured ankle made an appearance on Sunday night as the team landed in the Grand Canyon State in preparation for their Super Bowl XLII matchup against the New York Giants.

Perhaps that's not ground-breaking news, but the fact that Brady actually addressed a reporter's question in regard to his mild ankle sprain may very well be. "How's the ankle?" Brady said, repeating a question. "What did Coach say?" What coach Bill Belichick said to the reporter was to ask Brady ... so he did, to the mild surprise of the quarterback himself. "God, that's different," Brady said. "It's feeling good. I'll be ready to go. I think we need three great days of practice, which I hope to be participating in. I hope. It's a couple of days away. But I'm feeling better."

The NFL MVP also confirmed that he believes he suffered the injury during the third quarter of the Patriots' 21-12 victory over the San Diego Chargers in last week's AFC title game. Hours earlier while attending the team's sendoff in Foxborough, Massachusetts, Brady opted not to address the injury, electing rather to quarterback the cheers of the Patriots' faithful.
