Detroit (36-10-4) at Anaheim (27-18-6), 7:00 pm
ANAHEIM, California (Ticker) - Since the addition of Doug Weight and All-Star defenseman Scott Niedermayer, no team has been better than the Anaheim Ducks. Not even the Detroit Red Wings. Weight and Niedermayer will hope to help the Ducks continue their winning ways Wednesday when they host the Red Wings.

The addition of Weight and Niedermayer have made an immediate impact in Anaheim, which has posted a 12-3-2 record since December 16. The club's 26 points is one point better than league-leading Detroit over that stretch. Niedermayer also was selected to play in the All-Star Game. The reigning Conn Smythe recipient has two goals and nine assists in 17 games this season.

The Red Wings are coming off a 3-0 triumph over the Los Angeles Kings on Tuesday. Chris Osgood made 27 saves to record his third shutout of the season and 38th career. Detroit's leading-scorer Henrik Zetterberg, who has 28 goals and 61 points, missed Tuesday's contest with a back injury. He also will miss the All-Star Game.
