MLB Announces Schedule

NEW YORK (Ticker) -- The Major League Baseball season will open on its earliest date when the world champion Boston Red Sox face the Oakland Athletics in Tokyo on March 25. The Red Sox and Athletics also will meet in Tokyo on March 26.

The first game within the United States and Canada will feature the Atlanta Braves visiting the Washington Nationals on Sunday, March 30 at 8:05 p.m. EST. It marks the first game at Nationals Park. On April 14,

MLB will celebrate "Jackie Robinson Day," marking the 61st anniversary into the major leagues. Robinson will be honored prior to the start of each game that day. Interleague play, in its 11th season, will be from May 16-18, and from June 13-29. The 79th All-Star Game will be played at Yankee Stadium on Tuesday, July 15.
