Dennis Green's 2-Minute Drill

The Super Bowl this year is unique for a couple of reasons. The New England Patriots beat the New York Giants in the last game of the 2007 regular season. There is good news and bad news for each team. First, the Patriots finished the regular undefeated with a perfect 16-0 record. This has never been accomplished before in the history of the NFL. They have broken most of the NFL offensive records along the way.

The MVP quarterback, Tom Brady broke some and wide receiver Randy Moss broke some. Surprisingly, Moss has only caught two passes in two of their earlier playoff games. The Patriots have been running the ball very well and are expected to continue this approach in this game. The Patriots defense is loaded with veterans and most of them have already won a couple Super Bowls.

The New York Giants lost that game to the Patriots at home in the Meadowlands. The good news for the Giants is that they do not play well at home. In contrast, they rarely lose on the road and the confidence they show is amazing. The football game in Green Bay in tough wintry conditions was an example of their mental and physical toughness. They have an excellent defensive line that can put pressure on Tom Brady. Also, the Giants have an outstanding running attack and have the big play passing game to go with it.

So, pick your favorite spot to watch the game, enjoy the commercials, and root for someone even if your main team is not playing.
