Aztecs Lose Again at BYU

PROVO, Utah (AP) -- Trent Plaisted scored 17 points and pulled down 11 rebounds to lead Brigham Young to a 59-56 win over San Diego State on Wednesday night.

Despite making only 3-of-8 free throws, Plaisted connected on one with 1:24 remaining in the game that was ultimately the game winner. Plaisted's free throw put the Cougars (14-5, 3-1) ahead 57-53. Kyle Spain responded with a 3-pointer to pull the Aztecs (14-5, 4-1 Mountain West) back to within one with 1:07 left, but he missed two shots inside of 20 seconds that would have given SDSU the lead. Sam Burgess hit two free throws with 2.9 seconds left to push the lead to three, but Ryan Amoroso's shot at the buzzer bounced off the rim.

The win extended BYU's home court winning streak to 41 games, which is the second longest active streak in the nation.
