SoCal NHL Preview

Vancouver (16-10-3) at Los Angeles (11-16-2), 7:30 pm, FSN
LOS ANGELES (Ticker) - Roberto Luongo and the Vancouver Canucks will look to avenge an earlier loss to the lowly Los Angeles Kings on Monday. Luongo has been outstanding recently, but he would like to redeem himself for a poor performance in a 4-2 loss to the Kings on October 19. The Hart trophy runner-up last season, Luongo is 4-1-1 with a 0.83 goals-against average in his last six games. He also posted three straight shutouts over that stretch, and is tied for second in the league with four shutouts. However Luongo allowed four goals on 16 shots in the loss to Los Angeles, which has the worst record in the Western Conference. The Canucks have failed to provide Luongo with much support as they have scored one goal in each of their last three losses. On Saturday, Luongo stopped 31 shots in a 2-1 shootout loss to Pittsburgh. Vancouver, which is opening a four-game road trip, is 6-2-1 in its last nine road games and has won three of the last four meetings between the teams. Meanwhile, the Kings are coming off a 4-2 loss to Phoenix, and have lost 10 of their last 13 games.
