SoCal NBA Preview

LA Lakers (6-3) at Indiana (4-6) 4:00 pm PT
INDIANAPOLIS (Ticker) -- Fresh off snapping a long losing streak, the Indiana Pacers get to face one of the NBA's hottest teams. The Pacers hope to build off an impressive win Tuesday when they host Kobe Bryant and the high-scoring Los Angeles Lakers. Mired in a six-game losing streak, Indiana halted its skid in impressive fashion Saturday, rolling to a 117-97 rout of the Utah Jazz. Mike Dunleavy scored 25 points for the Pacers, who shot 58 percent (44-of-76) from the floor and made 11 shots from the arc. Indiana likely will need another strong offensive performance to keep up with the Lakers, who have averaged 104 points over their first nine games this season. Los Angeles has managed to eclipse the 100-point mark in each of its last two games despite a pair of poor performances from Bryant, who failed to score 20 points in both contests. The NBA's two-time reigning scoring champion, Bryant scored just 18 points Sunday, but the Lakers rolled to a 106-78 victory over the Chicago Bulls. Bryant shot 6-of-16 from the floor to pace six scorers in double figures. Jordan Farmar and Andrew Bynum both scored 14 points for Los Angeles, which has lost its last three visits to Indiana.
