Not too long ago ESPN.com decided to compile their list of the best college football programs over the past 10 years. The list of course started with the USC Trojans and also towards the top were teams like the Florida Gators, Ohio State Buckeyes and Michigan Wolverines. Most of the list is pretty good so we now know the best college football programs of the past 10 years but which programs are the worst? These are the 10 worst college football programs of the past 10 years.

10. UNLV - The low point for UNLV came in 1998 when they finished with a 0 - 11 season. A few years later UNLV bounced back with an 8 - 5 record in 2000 but since then UNLV has had losing seasons in 5 out of the last 6 seasons and UNLV has notched only 2 wins the last three years in a row.

9. Kent - Unfortunately the college football Kent team has nothing in common with Clark Kent. In the past 10 years Kent has only had one winning season when they went 6 - 5 in 2001. Kent can at least say they've improved lately; they've won 20 games in the last 5 years compared to just 12 the five years before that.

8. Louisiana-Lafayette - Louisiana-Lafayette, also known to some as LALA (not to be confused with LAMO) is actually an improving college football club. The past two seasons Louisiana-Lafayette has won 6 games, they won 4 games two seasons before that and 3 games two seasons before that. Still their record over the past ten years is only 32 - 81.

7. Eastern Michigan - Eastern Michigan's record over the past 10 years stands at 31 - 82. Unlike the teams before them Eastern Michigan has not even had a 6 win season in the last ten year or a 5 win season for that matter.

6. Baylor - Baylor has the task of playing harder teams than anybody else on this list but only having a 28 - 85 record over the past ten years is inexcusable. Even if Baylor is the worst team in the Big 12 they should at least compete with their non-conference opponents and the other bad teams in the Big 12.

5. Florida International - Florida International has not been in Division I for ten years but after a 0 - 12 record last season Florida International has to be considered one of the worst current programs. Florida International is also off to a 0 - 9 record this year so by the end of this year they could be even higher on the list.

4. Army - Over the past 10 years Army has managed only two 4 win seasons, four 3 win seasons, one 2 win season, two 1 win seasons and one goose egg.

3. Temple - Temple was consistently winning 4 games a season from 2000 to 2002, which may have at last kept Temple out of the bottom three teams but then from 2003 to 2006 Temple went 4 - 42 and lost their spot in the Big East.

2. Duke - Like Baylor, Duke has to face some tougher competition being in a BCS school but you would also think being in a BCS conference alone when give them a lot more talent. But the Duke Blue Devils have the second worst record of any college football program the past ten years. During that span Duke had three 0 win seasons including consecutive 0 win seasons in 2000 and 2001. Duke's 95 losses are the most of any college football program in the past 10 years.

1. Buffalo - Duke has the most losses of any college football program in the past ten years but that's because Buffalo hasn't played as many games. Buffalo actually has the worst winning percentage in the past ten years. Their 12 - 79 record is a winning percentage of only .131. Over the past 10 years Buffalo has just one 4 win season, one 3 win season and the rest have been 3 wins or less.
