Chiles and Six Others Named to Pac-10 Team
(SDSU) - San Diego State senior Kraig Chiles (San Diego/Poway HS) headed a group of six Aztecs who were named to the Pac-10 All-Conference team on Tuesday. Chiles earned first-team accolades, while sophomores Nick Cardenas (Thornton, Colo./Horizon HS) and Evan Toft (Aurora, Colo./Grandview HS) were selected to the second team. In addition, sophomore Jamel Wallace (San Diego/Oceanside HS), and freshmen Brad Byrns (Alamo, Calif./Monte Vista HS) and Khadim Diouf (Suffield, Conn./Suffield Academy) were honorable mention selections. In addition, Chiles was named the Pac-10 Player of the Week after helping the Aztecs to a pair of come-from-behind ties over the weekend to secure SDSU's second consecutive Pac-10 runner-up finish, commissioner Tom Hansen announced Tuesday. It was Chiles' third career weekly honor and second of the season.

Burns In Search of 250th Career Win
Off to a 2-0 start for the first time in 15 years, the San Diego State women's basketball team plays host to Southern Utah Tuesday in its 2007-08 home opener at Cox Arena at 7 p.m. Aztec head coach Beth Burns can record her 250th career victory with a win over the Thunderbirds, who enter the game with a 1-2 mark.

Hughes Garners Special Teams Honors
San Diego State senior Michael Hughes has been named the Mountain West Conference Special Teams Player of the Week for his punting performance in the Aztecs' 55-23 loss at Air Force on Saturday, the league office announced on Monday.
