PFL Honors Two
The Pioneer Football League announced that USD football players Eric Bakhtiari and Hutch Parker are PFL players of the week for their outstanding performances in the team's impressive 59-19 home win over Drake this past Saturday. Bakhtiari was named the PFL defensive player of the week after he posted the season's most impressive defensive numbers. He finished the night with 10 tackles, including eight solo stops. Of those tackles, six came in the Drake backfield, including four quarterback sacks - the most in the FCS this season. In addition, Bakhtiari tied a FCS single-game record with three forced fumbles, one of which he recovered. He tacked on a pair of quarterback hurries, one which was responsible for an errant throw that was intercepted and returned 99 yards for a touchdown. He ranks #1 in the nation in pass sacks (1.92 per game).

Women's Soccer Upsets Santa Clara
Junior striker Amy Epsten's seventh goal of the season in the 40th minute of the match, lifted the 16th-ranked University of San Diego women's soccer team to a 1-0 West Coast Conference win over No. 5 Santa Clara University in the WCC opener for both teams Sunday afternoon at Torero Stadium. With the win, the Toreros run their program-best unbeaten streak to nine as they improve to 10-1-2 overall and move to 1-0-0 in the WCC. With the loss, the Broncos fall to 8-3-2 overall and 0-1-0 in the WCC.

USD Men Edge Gonzaga in Soccer
University of San Diego senior midfielder Colin Jennings scored the only goal from a corner kick by teammate Tannen Wels' corner kick at 92:35 Sunday afternoon, giving the visiting Toreros a 1-0 WCC overtime victory over the Gonzaga University Bulldogs.The win over the Bulldogs (8-3-1, 3-1-1 WCC) lifts the Toreros (5-6-0, 2-1 WCC) to a two-game winning streak, and for the second time in Torero men's soccer history, the team returns to San Diego undefeated from the great Northwest.USD's win over Gonzaga represents the third straight win over the Bulldogs and snaps Gonzaga's seven game win-streak.
