Carlsbad Basketball League

The City of Carlsbad Recreation Department offers co-ed and girls-only youth basketball leagues for grades 3-8. The league provides youth with a framework for sportsmanship and fair play while learning the basic fundamentals of the sport. Volunteer coaches are also needed – contact the Youth Sports office at (760) 434-2971 for more information.

Once registered, all players must attend an evaluation session to assess their skill level. Once parent of each player must attend a mandatory parent meeting before the season begins.

The City of Carlsbad ensures that all participants engage in good sportsmanship by requiring all participants to abide by a Code of Conduct as outlined in the Carlsbad Recreation Department’s T.R.U.S.T. (Teaching Respect, Unity and Sportsmanship through Teamwork) program. For more information on the T.R.U.S.T. program, contact Kevin Granse at (760) 434-2989.
