Aztecs' Burns Gets Contract Extension

SAN DIEGO (Ticker) -- San Diego State women's basketball coach Beth Burns signed a new five year contract Wednesday. Financial terms were not disclosed. The all-time winningest coach in the history of the program, Burns has recorded 166 wins in two separate stints with the Aztecs. She owns a career record of 247-188 in parts of 15 seasons. "I truly appreciate (athletics director) Jeff Schemmel giving me the opportunity to continue to build our basketball program at San Diego State," Burns said. "I have great trust in the potential of our program, the quality of our Aztecs, and in the leadership and direction of our department and great university."
