NASCAR - Reed Sorenson earned his first victory in two years, avoiding the pitfalls of a cautioned-filled Busch Gateway 250 on Saturday night. The NASCAR Nextel Cup Series did not hold a race this weekend.

IRL - Scott Dixon wound up in Victory Circle for the third consecutive race weekend (tying an IndyCar Series record held by teammate Dan Wheldon and Kenny Brack) by leading Franchitti to the checkers by 2.6917 seconds in the inaugural Honda 200 at Mid-Ohio presented by Westfield Insurance. Castroneves finished third. Danica Patrick finish fifth in the race held on the 2.258-mile Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course.

F1 - McLaren's Fernando Alonso won a wet European Grand Prix on Sunday to cut championship-leading team mate Lewis Hamilton's lead to just two points.

CHAMP CAR - Three-time series champion Sebastien Bourdais raced to a victory in the Rexall Grand Prix of Edmonton. The win enabled Bourdais to build a 20 point lead in the championship standings.
