Chrissy's Corner - Lifestyles Contributor

Chrissy Russo, Fox In The Morning weather and traffic anchor, joins North County Sports as a lifestyles contributor. Despite her busy lifestyle, Chrissy makes time for surfing, soccer, jogging, animals and volunteering. Chrissy looks at the importance of staying fit and having fun.

For me - yes. I'm never more out of balance than when I am out of shape. I can't think straight, I'm tired, and I'm just not a productive member of society. Sports and fitness are not an option for me. If I get out of shape, believe you me, we'll start calling this column “Cranky Chrissy's Corner.”

Playing sports my whole life has kept my mind and body fit. I need a fit mind to do the weather on Fox6 in the mornings, and to interview Padres players in the afternoons.

In my life I've played softball, tennis, field hockey, was a beach lifeguard, surfed and played lots of soccer. Just over a year ago though, my mom and I got into a bad car crash. So, for about 10 months after, I couldn't do much more than take long walks and lift light weights. That was a big stinker. Kids, start playing sports young and don't stop! The big thing is to make sure you're always having a good time.
