Shockwave Hits San Diego

SAN DIEGO - The epicenter of the indoor football world is San Diego, as the expansion National Indoor Football League (NIFL) Shockwave has rumbled to a 2-1 start. The San Diego Shockwave played their second home game in convincing fashion at Cox Arena on the campus of San Diego State University by defeating the Beaumont (TX) Drillers 46-9. The Shockwave opened their inaugural season with a 56-9 romp over the Los Angeles Lynx on March 31. The following week, San Diego lost to Casper (WY) 57-20 in their first road contest. The Shockwave, led by former San Diego State University alum Curtis Rico, play in the 24-team NIFL, which has teams throughout the country. For more information, visit www.sandiegoshockwave.com.
