Aztecs Prepare for Annual Red & Black Game

The San Diego State football team began its final week of spring drills on Wednesday afternoon at the on-campus practice facility.

In his press conference, second year SDSU head coach Chuck Long said, "Offensively, I like the way our running backs are performing, and the way they're running hard. We're a little thin at wide receiver and on the offensive line (with) just a few minor injuries, which is a plus in a way, because we had some serious injuries last spring. We're trying to develop some depth along the offensive line. Some of our younger guys are getting a lot of repetitions. I'm really pleased that we've been relatively healthy all the way through (the spring). It's knock on wood at this point with one week to go, but (the injuries) have been minor up to this point."

The Aztecs will be practicing each of the next two days at SDSU, leading up to Saturday's annual Red & Black Game, scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. at Helix High School in La Mesa, Calif.
