Padred On deck vs. Cardinals, Game 3 of 3

St Louis (27-21) at San Diego (17-30), 7:05 pm, 4SD/1090/105.7

SAN DIEGO (Ticker) - Chris Young has been one of the few bright spots for the San Diego Padres recently. Young will seek his third straight win as the Padres conclude a three-game series against the St. Louis Cardinals on Wednesday.

The 28-year-old Young (4-3, 4.18 ERA) surrendered four runs and five hits with four walks and five strikeouts over six innings during Friday's 6-4 triumph over the Seattle Mariners. The 6-10 righthander has won three of his last four starts.

Kevin Kouzmanoff belted a three-run home run to help the Padres stage a rare comeback victory in a 3-2 triumph over the Cardinals on Tuesday. Kouzmanoff's blast in the sixth frame erased a 2-0 deficit as San Diego, which owns the worst record in the majors, came from behind to win for just the fourth time this season.

Braden Looper (5-3, 4.25) heads to the mound for St. Louis, which has won three of four. Looper, who will be trying to avoid his third straight loss, gave up three runs and 10 hits over six frames in Friday's 3-1 loss to the Tampa Bay Rays.
