UCSD Stumbles in Volleyball Semifinals

SAN BERNARDINO (UCSD) - The UC San Diego women's volleyball team suffered a 23-30, 26-30, 30-21, 30-26, 15-13 loss to Western Washington in the NCAA Pacific Regional semifinals on Friday night. The Tritons led two games to none, but could not put the match away. With the loss, the Tritons season comes to an end with a 20-8 record as UCSD played six of its last seven matches in five-games. Rebecca Bailey tallied a match-high 22 kills while Amber Ries added 18 kills and Sylvia Schmidt chipped in with 16 kills and seven aces. Natalie Facchini recorded 26 digs and Karen Reis added 16 digs.
