OK State Upsets USD in Soccer


LOS ANGELES (USD) - The ninth-ranked University of San Diego women's soccer team saw their season come to an end with a 2-1 loss to No. 19 Oklahoma State University in the first round of the NCAA Tournament Friday evening at UCLA's Drake Stadium.With the loss, the Toreros end their season with a 15-3-3 overall record. With the win the Cowgirls move to 14-5-3 overall and will advance on to face UCLA on Sunday at 1 p.m. in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.The Toreros wasted no time scoring as in the 10th minute of action, senior midfielder Leigh Ann Robinson sent a lead pass to a streaking Jen Mello. Mello then hit a one-timer past the OSU goalkeeper and into the back of the net to give USD the early 1-0 advantage.
